We just wanted to share a use for the Cutecast system that may not have been considered by others. We have actually implemented it on a couple of our other sites in a private area. It is not used as a message board, but an organizer of sorts. We run a large site with over a dozen staff members. It has always been a challenge to keep track of contact information, notes about possible content for the site, bug reports, broken links, etc. We tried using a wiki and other organizer programs, but they can be complicated to use, or more likely complicated to categorize and find stuff. Plus, my staff didn't like having to learn new programs simply to jot down a note or info.

So, we set up an instance of Cutecast to be used as an organizer. All the information is in one place, easily editable. We can be as relaxed or strict with categorizing as we want. Because CC is flat-file based, we didn't have to worry about setting up a whole MySQL database when we didn't anticipate a huge amount of traffic/posts. Plus, it was pretty much drop in, configure and run, since we didn't need a lot of add-ons, plugs, or hacks because of it's limited use.
